Reviews of the book:

Dana from MADE said:
"This is what I love about this book: the basics mixed with nitty  gritty details. Katie walks you through Lighting, Composition, how to  achieve proper exposure, Lenses, Editing, how to think and see  creatively, and so much more. And she writes it in a way that's easy to  follow and understand. Sounds simple right? With her well written  explanations and info, it is. She even shows good and bad photo examples, which I love."

Jessica from Happy Together said:
"When Katie of Katie Evans Photography sent me a copy of her book  The Key To Taking Pictures Like a Professional Photographer I was  ecstatic. I opened it up and devoured it. There is so much good  information in it! Some things I had already learned here and there, but  there is a ton of tips, tricks, and more that I had never heard of or  were explained in a way that I could really understand them."

James from Smoked Cheese Photography said:
"Although having learnt quite a bit about photography since my  first course I find that I sometimes struggle when trying to explain it  to others. Fellow blogger Katie Evans does not have that trouble in fact quite the reverse and has just recently released her book The Key to Taking Pictures Like a Professional Photographer.
I think a really good first step for anyone interested in taking  photos is to read your camera manual. This book would have to be a  great second step as the perfect companion to your manual.
It expands on difficult concepts with examples keeping things real  and easy to understand. While reading this I kept on finding myself  nodding my head so much of it is transferrable to any type of camera and  spot on."

Katie:
I have never read anything that has put photography SO SIMPLY.  I was  gifted a Canon 20D from my husband 7 years ago.  I have been told that a  lot of professionals have it, but I have only had good results with my  outside pictures on auto.  I have attempted to read my manual in the  past, but just put it away because my head would be spinning!  I even  thought about going to take a photography class!  THANK YOU FOR SAVING  SOME TIME AND MONEY!!!!  I just read the e-book, took out my manual this  morning and it all seems SO clear today!  FABULOUS!
I still have a ways to go, but I feel like I can now use this camera  to its best potential!  So glad I saw your giveaway on Crap I've Made  blog.  I didn't win your book, but was immediately intrigued and  bought.  So glad I did!!!
Thanks for sharing with everyone!

Katie,
Ummm, I have to tell you that your book  is perfect.  I actually think that I love it.  Let me tell you why...I  work with high school students.  In any given photography class I have a  wide range of ability levels with only about 2% of them (at most) ever  really having had any kind of semi-advanced experience with a camera.   Meaning that they sort of know how to use an SLR.  This book is so  accessible to those students at the lower end of the ability or  experience scale while still appealing to those few who know their way  around a camera.  You speak to the masses by eliminating all  superfluous, wordy nonsense, yet give us enough technical  information that we can discuss our photos, the process and product,  with confidence.  I think that you thoroughly cover the basics without  wasting any time.  Not to mention that your photos are fresh and  vibrant!
